The album Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino is one of the strangest and most radically different works by the British band Arctic Monkeys, released in 2018. If Arctic Monkeys previously made more guitar-based indie/rock music (“AM”, “Whatever People Say I Am…”), here they almost completely change direction:

Less “rock” energy and more atmosphere
The album feels more like a solo project, especially since Alex Turner wrote most of it himself on piano.
